July Camp Nano is just around the corner! What are you planning or prepping in June? Are you starting a new project or working on an existing draft? Let me know below!
I want to keep a record of my progress and give a little insight into my process. Let me know what you think in the comments!
STRUGGLES AND SUCCESSES
I got a new job (fun but challenging!), went on vacation (same!), and took a major break from my projects (almost as hard). Whew! It’s a busy Summer already, and we’re just getting started.
I’ve been trying to realign my life and balance the things that belong with the new things that are coming into my orbit. Sadly I had to let go of some of the things I enjoyed, but I am convinced I made the right decisions.
During all the activity, I took May off my writing and organizing projects. I was tempted a time or two, but I managed it. Resting is not easy for me, but it’s essential to the creative process and I respect that. I have some hard work on the horizon and I’m glad I took the time.
June has two major projects but they don’t run concurrently. We shall see how it goes.
CURRENT NOVEL PROGRESS
One of those projects is continuing to work on TDG this month and next month for Camp Nanowrimo.
I still expect to publish in January 2025 so stay tuned for updates.

Oh, just this thing I made up to help creative people be more productive and satisfied in their art.
Every week, we get together, set goals, and hold each other accountable. We make space and time for creativity and we follow through with meeting our own goals and helping others meet theirs. It is a safe and non-judgmental space where everyone is welcome and free to create how they choose.
That’s it.
Nothing fancy.
The best part? You’re invited!
You don’t have to do anything but show up ready to self-explore.
I’ve got three different time slots available, so you’ll need to vote on which one you can make. Please only vote for your BEST possible time.

Just click below and let me know you’re interested. I can’t wait to see you there.
Now that you know who I am, Perhaps you’d like to know whom I help.
I help people find their words. Part of my calling is helping others communicate. So, if you need to find your message, manage your writing time, or find a better way to communicate, I want to help you, especially if you fall into the following categories:
Creative Entrepreneurs:
You’re a writer, artist, dancer, etc. who has or wants to start your own business.
I’ve been there, done that, and made most of the mistakes along the way. I can help you balance your time, deal with your finances, and find better clients.
Authors:
You’ve written or even published your work, but you know it needs another set of eyes.
I provide a non-judgmental critical eye to your work and help you define and hone your message. I can help with editing, self-publishing or query questions, and getting in the right mindset.
Newbie Writers:
You’re just starting to write and you’re wondering if you’ve got what it takes.
First, let me say, you do. I can help with your drive, managing your time, and getting your words in front of other people.
Non-Native Speakers:
You’re struggling with your English and have trouble with written or spoken communication.
I have been tutoring and training non-native speakers for almost 20 years! I love the language and I can help you become a better writer, speaker, or both.
So tell me…who are you? Do you still need help, even if you don’t identify with any category?
Ok. The only people I know reading this are my parents, so I really need y’all to comment here and let me know who my audience is.
It’s totally ok if it’s only my parents. But. I’m taking this opportunity to create my very first hashtag #sorrydad for those moments…where I have to be an adult
I’ve given you a list of questions and options to ask me some. Comment with your question and your answer.
Let’s start a conversation.
Respond to one question. or two. or all 20. As many or as few as you wish. Just please answer at least one.
There’s no grade for this test so don’t let it make you anxious. There are no right or wrong answers, just opinions. Your answer can be as long or as short as it needs to be.
Consider this one of those bullshit ‘get to know you’ activities, but you get to control your input. You do NOT have to come up with an adjective starting with the same letter as your name (though you special unicorns are welcome to do just that).
MOST IMPORTANTLY: have fun.
Why is 2020 the ‘ideal vision?’ Is there something to that or is it just aesthetics?
Was WW2 worse or better than WW1? Would WW3 end it all? Discuss.
What’s the ideal age to start giving my nephews cash for their birthdays and how much should I give?
Who’s done a meal delivery service (i.e. blue apron, hello fresh, etc.)? Did you enjoy it? Was it worth the money? Did you actually save time or money?
What’s your favorite social media platform and why?
What’s your favorite kind (genre) of book? Do you read other stuff you don’t consider books (audio, podcasts, magazines, newspapers, apps, etc)?
Do you find studying hard?
Do you believe in routine or do you wing it every day. Explain your position.
Are you offended by a term or phrase (not profanity or racial slurs. I’m thinking like ‘feminist’ or ‘millennial’) that is current as of 2020? What is it and why does it offend you?
How do you define ‘adulting?’
Do you know what a bullet journal is? Are you obsessed with them? Feel free to gush.
Do you know the difference between proofreading and editing? Prove it.
It’s now a criminal offense to mistreat animals. Too harsh? or BoutDamnTime? Discuss.
What’s the coolest modern/current technology? What’s the scariest?
Want to talk about dieting (good or bad), food, fitness, or healthy eating?
Ask me a question about your hair, skin, or nails. (Sure, even the gross ones)
Ask me one of my 20 questions.
Ask me a question of your own devising. You should consider your question ‘public’
Solemnly swear to me you are up to no good. Do it properly.
Batman or Superman? Defend your choice.
That’s all for today! Coming tomorrow: Let’s have a conversation
